We have kicked off the festivities for our first All Camp Day of the Summer: Greco-Roman Palooza. Yesterday at lunchtime flagpole, we were visited by a goddess on horseback. She called on 6 team captains to raise an army for a spirited competition here at camp today. The teams are, "Greeks", "Romans", "Persians", "Egyptians", "Gladiators" and "Barbarians".
Last night, we gave each team 45 minutes to create 2-3 cheers and design a team flag. We then paraded around the Athletics field for the opening ceremonies, and lit the Olympic flame. Major thanks to Rob and Cody for setting up an awesome flame lighting display. Cody shot a flaming arrow from the zip platform, nailing the bonfire pit and igniting the fire. It was quite impressive, and I'm hoping to get a video of it posted soon. Each team then performed their cheers in front of the bonfire.
We are pretty excited for a fun filled day. I'll have the full synopsis tomorrow!
