Session B got underway on Sunday-- wild, wild west-- yee haw!

We began our orientation process around 2:30, with introductions and a review of rules. Then it was time for swim checks, nurse checks and camp tours. After dinner, cabin photos were taken and the kids enjoyed a unit night together. The Iroquois and Pioneers were treated to an ice cream social while the Nation and Shawnees learned cheers.

Everything culminated in a "cheer off" on the athletics field around 9:00 pm, before everyone went to bed. I can honestly say that things are off to a very spirited start!

  1. I know session B will be as awesome and successful as session A. The staff continues to work hard but always with enthusiasm and smiles and open arms. I am so happy and proud that my son, Sam Tripp, CIT, is learning from some great leaders and wants to continue the wonderful sharing and caring of Camp Bernie. BTW I lived in Bergen County and attended Outdoor Education for one week back in 1968. I learned so much about nature, people and most of all myself back then. It was by coincidence we found the camp for Sam 5 years ago. I feel blessed that it has meant so much to Sam. So enjoy Session B to all the campers, counselors, leaders and staff!
